VIRGINIA, United States – A congressman, representing Louisiana in the United States, Steve Scalise has been shot. He was shot in Alexandria, Virginia.
Scalise, a Majority Whip, according to reports, was shot at a GOP congressional baseball team practice session.
“Scalise, a member of the House Republican leadership as the majority whip, appeared to have been shot in the hip and it appeared two Capitol Hill police agents were shot, according to Rep. Mo Brooks”, CNN has reported.
In a statement, Preside t Donald Trump. described Scalise as a good man .
“Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana, a true friend and patriot, was badly injured but will fully recover. Our thoughts and prayers are with him”, he said.
