NIGER, Nigeria – A total of 59 people have been killed in combined attacks carried out by the Nigerian armed forces in Niger State and Nasarawa, all in the northern part of Nigeria.

At least 21 local hunters, known as Civilian JTF were killed and many injured following a drone attack in Niger State, while 38 herders were killed in another military attack in Nasarawa.

According to eye witness, the members of the Civilian JTF  in Niger State were hit while responding to attack by gunmen in Niger State.

Ayuba Lagodo, a member of the group told Daily Mail that the group was hit shortly after residents reported that an attack was underway in Galadimakogo.

Although, it is not clear who lunched the attack, fingers are pointing to the Nigerian Air Force, which is yet to issue any statement on the development.

Meanwhile, there are reports that 38 herdsmen have been killed in Rukubi Community in Doma Local Government, Nasarawa.

The herders according to sources were returning from Makurdi, the Benue State capital  to retrieve over 1000 cows seized by the Benue Livestock Guards when they were hit by an explosive.

Daily Trust reported that some of the cows were released after the herdsmen paid fine amounting to N29 million for the livestock and that they were hit by the explosives at the point of offloading the animals.
