There was a major traffic snarl on Saturday on Ogunnusi Road as Lagos State Government blocked-off the popular Lateef Jakande road to enable officials of the Ministry of Environment to carry out a major drainage construction that would take-off water from Wemco and Acme Road into Omole Estate for onward transmission to Ogun River.

The work which is expected to last for 13 days saw officials of the Lagos Traffic Management Authority(LASTMA) diverting traffic from the road into Wempco road to link Ogunnusi Road while all Agidingbi-bound vehicles were diverted to Ogba from where they will link their destination.

Work on the road engendered heavy vehicular movement, keeping motorists on the road for several hours. Earlier in the week, Commissioner for Transportation, Comrade Kayode Opeifa encouraged motorists living in Omole, Ojodu and neighboring areas who have anything to do in Ikeja to use the Lagos –Ibadan Expressway to Alausa and then to Ikeja.
