LONDON – A DEVIANT school mentor who used his position of trust to prey on young girls has been hauled to justice and jailed for eight years.

Emem Udaw, 51, presented himself as a supportive role model at the prestigious Holland Park Secondary School. But behind the friendly facade, he was a “calculated” predator who lured vulnerable teens into empty classrooms to carry out a string of sick sex attacks.

A jury at Isleworth Crown Court found Udaw, of Tolworth, south London, guilty of 14 counts of indecent assault on girls under the age of 16.

The “calculated” creep operated under the noses of staff between 2002 and 2004.

The court heard how he exploited his role to isolate victims during one-on-one sessions, even encouraging them to skip lessons so he could get them alone.

Once inside empty classrooms—sometimes with the doors locked—Udaw subjected the girls to a nightmare of “comfort” that turned into sexual abuse.

The pervert made sexualised comments and forced the girls to sit on his lap before touching them intimately and kissing them.

Udaw’s secret life remained hidden for nearly 20 years until a brave survivor posted about his “inappropriate behaviour” in a private social media group in 2019.

Her post acted as a lightning rod for other victims, who realised they weren’t alone.

Three women went to the Met Police in 2020, followed by two more later that year.

Despite Udaw’s arrogant claims that he was merely a “role model,” the jury saw through his lies.

Detective Constable Sandy Whysall, who led the hunt for Udaw, praised the “remarkable courage” of the women who spoke out.

She said: “Udaw spent years presenting himself as someone who supported and guided children, yet behind that image, he was deliberately targeting young girls who trusted him.

”Today’s sentencing shows that time is never a barrier to justice.”

The Met Police, who investigated the case under Operation RoseQuartz, are now urging anyone else who may have been targeted by Udaw to come forward.
