LAGOS – Nigerians have reacted wholeheartedly following leakage of the very emotional sex scandal that rocked Chrisland School in Victoria Garden City, VGC in far away, United Arab Emirates, UAE.
A video of the teenage students naked with the girl whose age hovers between 10 and 13 sitting on top of the young boy doing it, with another student in a nearby bed, complaining about his inability to sleep had surfaced on the social media.
The respected music producer, Ubi Franklin had gone to press on his Instagram blog to announce that a friend just told him how his 10 year old daughter of Chrisland School on excursion during the World School Games in the UAE was gang raped by fellow students. Her parents also besieged the school in protest, claiming their innocent girl was gang-raped.
The uproar caused by the incident forced the Lagos State Government to act by closing down all arms of the school in Lagos pending investigation on the incident.
The state also warned that there is an existing Executive Order that prescribes 14 year jail for anybody who produces child pornography, receives, keeps and circulates such a video of an underage.
For the sake of curiosity, many Nigerians jumped on the internet in search of the video, which many found to have contravened the alarm raised by the celebrity.
Reacting to the incident, Cornerstone TV describe the incident as one of the disadvantages of watching BBNaija with your kids. Mz Babz captured the incident this way: “There is negligence on the part of the school and bad parenting on the part of the parents of both the boy and the girl”.
For Fairest Sophia,” Good upbringing is really vital. It’s role can’t be overemphasized, charity begins at home, crazy things and unbelievable things keep happening everyday so bad, she said. Another girl, said at Info.leadcatering, “ they raped themselves. It’s called statutory rape. It’s still rape”, she said.
Another girl, Chioma said, “Some of these kids have lost it. Their parents failed them and it’s so shameful”. For Vee Vyane, Charity begins at home, but the school is still wrong for trying to cover it up.
Sommy C came down real hard on Ubi Franklyn: “Ubi Fraklin need so apologise, imaging tarnishing someone’s reputation, cause of one sided story, that wasn’t rape”, he said with support from 52 other Nigerians.
“Ubi don start fire, run leave am”, Udilicious noted. For Feyisayo Richards, “Training up a child in a very good way in this corrupt society really requires serious work. May God help we parent”.
Sosared reacted this way, :Train your children well and stop looking for who to blame. Many of these children have access to big phones and internet; parents discuss immoral things in front of kids, gosh”.
“I am so scared for the generation to come”, Tam retorted. For Chaare Tea, “That child wasn’t raped. It’s just bad parenting. God have mercy, if a child does wrong the parents would be blamed, if a child does well, they’ll hail the parents. That girl wasn’t raped, she did that shit like a pro. Charity begins at home”, she said.
Boss Kollins added, : “Failed parents expecting schools to train their wayward children. Failed school system concealing the horrible behavour of their pupils to save their school’s name and reputation”, she said. Beigh Diva puts it succinctly”, That lill baby has been exposed to pornography before this incident”.
Ann Asa has a word of advice for the girl’s parents: “Personally, I feel the mother should go and talk to her daughter. She has to talk to her lovingly. She needs to get her to tell her who and who has been sleeping / molesting her.
“It’s possible they have grown up guys living with them or even neighbours etc. She really needs to get her to talk and get those whom she mentions arrested. The little girl also needs therapy. This is really sad”, she said.
