CHIBOK, Borno, Nigeria – Government Girls Secondary School Chibok, where 276 secondary school girls were kidnapped 7 years ago  has reopened for academic activities.

In a statement, Borno State Governor, Professor Zulum Babagana Umara Zulum  said that though the Government Girls Secondary School has reopened  it will not run as a boarding school.

According to him, it will run as a Day School for now.

“For Now, The School Will Be Operating As A Day School And Not As Boarding”, Professor Zulum said.  Zulum opened the school just as  he commissioned projects in Chibok local government area of southern Borno.

The Governor also commissioned several projects in Askira/Uba, Chibok and Damboa local government councils.

On arrival, the Governor met with Military Commander behind closed doors and proceeded to commission a befitting government lodge.

The Governor was accompanied by Senator Ali Ndume, Head of service, acting SSG, members of state and national assembly, commissioners, council Chairmen, politicians and other stakeholders.
