UMUAHIA, Abia, Nigeria – Head Coach, Abia Warriors football club of Umuahia, Emmanuel Deutcsh, has called on the League Management Company, organisers of the Nigeria Professional Football League to make a special arrangement with airline operators in the country for the air-lifting of teams to match venues across the nation.

Speaking in Umuahia, Deutcsh said Nigeria is too vast to be covered by road as many clubs in the country do not have the financial capacity to fly their teams to match venues.

According to the Camerounian gaffer, such an arrangement by the LMC will help bring out the best in our league as the teams are usually hit by fatigue after a long trip on road to match venues.

” If there’s a special arrangement by the league organisers(LMC) to help the clubs fly their teams, it’ll bring out the best in our league particularly now that we’re playing twice a week. Definitely, the long trips take their toll on the teams”, the former Akwa United of Uyo and Heartland of Owerri coach said.
