January 18, 2016 – The Super Eagles of Nigeria today began the 2016 African Nations Cup on a very strong note, beating the young boys from Niger 4-1 to lead group C.

It was a tension soaked first half with the Nigeriens dictating the pace in the first 45 minutes. But it was the golden boy of Abia Warriors, Chisom Chikatara, who was brought in during the second half that turned the game against Niger, after Osas Okoro put Nigeria ahead with a lone goal.

Chikatara(21) scored the next three goals, with the last goal coming in during the first of the added two minutes.
