CBN Earmarks N50 Billion for Disabled Persons

[wysija_form id=”1″]March 9, 2015 – Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has earmarked N50 billion for physically challenged persons in Nigeria. The money is meant to assist them to set up business for themselves to avoid depending on relatives.

Northern Liaison Office of CBN, Mr. Mohammed Sani Saleh made the revelation during a workshop organised for 50 disabled persons in Bauchi.

He said the training is to teach participants about the knowledge of developing business plans so as to be able to access the N50billion which has been set aside for these individuals in Nigeria. He said that N2 billion has been released for physically challenged persons in the state and the money will be accessed through micro finance banks in Nigeria.

He said participants are drawn from 20 local governments in the state and that the training will last for 4 weeks.

Participants at the programme however thanked the Federal Government for the gesture.
