The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has imposed a four year ban on US track and field athlete Shelby Houlihan. In a statement, CAS said Shelby Houlihan was found to have committed an anti-doping rule violation (ADRV) pursuant to Rule 2.1 and Rule 2.2 of the World Athletics Anti-Doping Rules

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced the death of IOC Honorary Member Fernando F. Lima Bello. He was 89 years old. Mr Lima Bello was a world champion sailor (Snipe) in 1953 and competed at two Olympic Games, Mexico City 1968 and Munich 1972 (Dragon).

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and nWay, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, today announced the upcoming launch of a new Olympic-themed digital entertainment experience consisting of non-fungible token (NFT) Olympic pins and cross-play multiplayer video games developed by nWay as part of a new licensing agreement with the IOC. First set are available on nWayPlay.com starting on 15 June, while Olympic-themed videogame will be launched later in 2021.

Olympic champion Thomas Bach has been re-elected for an additional four-year term as President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).  He was elected at the 137th IOC Session held virtually earlier today. The 67-year-old German received 93 yes and 1 no votes from the 94 valid votes.

The International Olympic Committee(IOC) has  come down really hard on  the National Olympic Committee(NOC) of Belarus over failure of its former president to appropriately protect the Belarusian athletes from political discrimination within the NOC, their member federations or the sports movement
