LONDON – THREE teen girl thugs who battered a gentle 75-year-old grandad to death in a sickening, unprovoked attack have been locked up for a combined nine years.

The callous trio from north-east London—aged 15, 17, and 17—were sentenced at the Old Bailey yesterday after admitting to the manslaughter of beloved Fredi Rivero.

Their victim was simply waiting at a bus stop on Seven Sisters Road when the girls launched their horrifying assault, even filming the attack on their phones and laughing as he lay dying.

Fredi was tragically knocked to the ground after being punched in the face by one of the girls, causing him to smash his head on the pavement. He died in hospital the following day.

The chilling attack unfolded last February. CCTV showed the three girls shouting at and pushing Fredi before the fatal punch landed.
In a disgusting betrayal of remorse, police revealed the teens immediately began blaming each other after their arrest, with one claiming: “I swear to god she pushed him and then he fell and hit his head. That’s nothing to do with me.”

However, officers tracked the cowardly killers down within hours and used mobile phone analysis to expose their lies—including the sickening discovery that one of the thugs filmed the whole ordeal.

Detective Inspector Devan Taylor, who led the Met’s investigation, blasted the teens’ actions, calling the footage “even more sickening” than the attack itself.

He said: “This was a completely unprovoked attack by three teenage girls, on an elderly man who was just going about his day. The fact they filmed the attack and found it funny is even more sickening.”

The Old Bailey heard heartbreaking testimony from Fredi’s grieving daughter.
She described her dad as a “kind, gentle, and polite man” who was deeply loved by his family and the local community.

The daughter told the court: “He was my most loyal friend, and now he is my brightest star.”
She revealed her beloved dad’s passions were chess, calligraphy, the band Queen, and stargazing—a cherished activity they did together.

She added: “He was a peaceful man who never went out of his way to trouble anyone. Our family has been left deeply affected and traumatised… we are now experiencing the profound grief and immense pain of losing him.”
The Sentences
A 15-year-old girl was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months.
One 17-year-old was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months.
The second 17-year-old was sentenced to 4 years.
The trio, who cannot be named because of their age, had pleaded guilty to manslaughter back in June.
