ABUJA, Nigeria – President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the House Representatives seeking amendment to the Petroleum Industry Act. The PIA was signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari few weeks back.
In his letter to the lawmakers, the President requested for the removal of the Ministers of Petroleum Resources and Finance from the board of the agencies created under the law.
He is seeking an amendment to the law to make for the appointment of non-Executive and Executive Directors for the agencies created by the law.
Speaking on the request, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila said the letter will be referred t to the appropriate committee of the House for immediate action.
