July 13, 2015 – President Muhammadu Buhari has dismissed all the Service Chiefs appointed by former Nigeria’s President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

The affected officers are Chief of Defence Staff,  Air Marshall Alex Badeh, Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Usman Jibrin, Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Kenneth Minimah, and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Adesola Amosu.

So far there is no formal statement from the Presidency while replacement is yet to be announced.

However, sources say that the sack may be connected with the stepping up of attacks by members of the radical Islamic Sect, Boko Haram which has killed over 400 since Buhari took over.
