LAGOS, Nigeria – President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the payment of N164, 763, 759 as school fees for the 106 Chibok girls rescued from the radical Boko Haram sect.
The 106 girls were preparing to write their West African Examination Council(WAEC) when they were kidnapped from Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok in April 14, 2014. The first sect of girls were rescued in October 2016.
But, we gathered that the girls who did not have WAEC certificates when they were released are now in Year One in American University of Nigeria, Yola and specifically preparing to write their second semester exam in the said university.
“President Buhari has approved the payment of N164, 763, 759 to cover the second semester fees of 106 rescued Chibok girls studying at American University of Nigeria,(AUN) in Yola”, the presidency tweeted.
