May 31, 2016 – President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mohammed Babandede as the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
Until his appointment, Babandede was a Deputy Comptroller General (DCG) of the Nigeria Immigration Service.
He replaces Mr. Martin Kure Abeshi, who retired from the Nigeria Immigration Service at the end of his tenure.The appointment of Mohammed Babandede took effect from 15th May, 2016.
