British Actress Lynda Bellingham Dies at 66

October 20, 2014 – Popular British actress, Lynda Bellingham is dead. She died in an hospital in London. She was 66.The actress died right in the presence of her husband in the hospital, he agent said in a statement.

She has been battling with colon cancer and has been under chemotherapy treatment. She said last month that she would end the treatment and damn the consequence and that she wanted to spend one last Christmas with her family when doctors informed her that the disease had spread to her lungs and liver.

She came into public reckoning in the 80s with her role in the Oxo television advert where she played mother.

She has featured in a number of TV series such as All Creatures Great And Small, sitcom Faith In The Future, competing in Strictly Come Dancing, and starring in the stage production of Calendar Girls.

“I sat down with (husband) Michael and Professor Stebbing and announced: ‘The time has come to cease and desist. I would love to make one more Christmas, if possible, but I want to stop taking chemo around November in order to pass away by the end of January’,” she said, and encouraged all to enjoy their lives while it last.

“Grasp it all, don’t be afraid, enjoy the bits you can and tell your family you love them while you have the chance,” she said.
