Members of the sect have in recent times intensified attacks in Nigeria and neighbouring towns. Chad is Nigeria’s border town.
Just last week, about 18 people were killed when members of the sect carried out simultaneous bombing in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city, forcing the military to beef up security in Abuja.
What followed was a very daring attack on a military base, during which 7 soldiers were killed and 8 others injured.
The military however repelled the attack during which over 100 of terrorists were killed.
