Turkey, July 18, 2016 – There is currently a massive clampdown on coup plotters in Turkey , following a failed attempt to forcefully overthrow the government of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

At least 312 people have been confirmed dead and about 1, 400 others injured in crossfire between the rebels and soldiers loyal to President Erdogan.

A total of 8,777 officers from the Turkish Ministry of Interior have been suspended from office with many arrested. Among those arrested are about 103 generals, policemen, judges, senior aides and lawyers with about eight soldiers fleeing to Greece.

Erdogan, who was on holiday used FaceTime to mobilize the Turkish people onto the streets to challenge the military.
Prime Minister of Turkey, Mr. Binali Yildirim confirmed 312 dead adding that about 7,500 have been detained among which are governors, generals and civilians.

The Turkish government has vowed that there will be continued crackdown to fish out those involved the in the coup, but the Prime Minister said government will not make any decision in a hurry.
