MAIDUGURI, Borno, Nigeria- Tales of horror in modern day hostel facilities have continued on the rise forcing many to wonder what is exactly amidst.
The latest story is from El-Kanemi College of Islamic Theology, Maiduguri, where the throat of an 11 year old junior student has been slit by a senior student just because the boy refused to run errand.
The affected child, Jubril Sadi Mato(Ramadan) now lies critically at the Intensive Care Unit of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital praying for God to keep him alive.
We gathered that his senior, who was infuriated by his refusal to run errands at wee hours of the night took his razor blade and slit his throat.
The incident took place on January 16. According to report, following the victims refusal, the SS2 student took him to a secluded place and used a razor blade to severely slit his throat.
Jubril was rushed to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital as he laid critical at the Intensive Care Unit, ICU. The victim is alleged to be the son of Late Justice Sadi Mato of Federal High Court, Kano. His mother, Hajiya Aisha, later married a Director with Yobe State Government.
We gathered that the perpetrator, who was on psychotropic substances, was subsequently arrested and handed over to police station for further investigations.
