BAYELSA POLLS: POLICE ARREST FIVE PLANNING TO LAUNCH ATTACK

January 8, 2016 – Less than 24 hours to the-run in Bayelsa State, at least five people have been arrested for planning to launch an attack in the state.

This is coming just as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State has raised the alarm over the deployment of 1,000 mobile policemen to Ekeremor LGA possibly for the election coming up in Southern Ijaw and 121 polling units in B ayelsa State.

Spokesman for the Nigeria Police in Bayelsa, Asene Boswan said it is not clear if the attack they were planning is connected to the re-scheduled election.

Meanwhile, the premises of Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), in Bayelsa is now under very tight security as INEC begins distributing electoral materials to polling units.
