LAGOS, Nigeria – Popular actor, Femi Ogunrombi who took on the bawd headed character Papa Ajasco in the Wale Adenuga’s television series is dead.
It is not clear what killed him, but the actor who works in the Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture took up the role when Abiodun Ayoyinka who originally played the role pulled out of the show for reasons having to do with welfare.
He pulled out with the others, who have since returned to the series.
Film critic, Dr. Shaibu Husseini confirmed the development onTwitter Sunday morning when he wrote:
“I have just been reliably informed that the ethnomusicologist, former Music Instructor with #NATIONALTROUPE and one time stand in for the ‘Papa Ajasco’ character on the popular #waleadenugaprod comic series ‘Papa Ajasco’ Mr. Femi Ogunrombi is dead.”
