BAUCHI BLAST: SIX-GOAL THRILLER ENDS IN STALEMATE AS WIKKI AND KATSINA TRADE BLOWS

BY OUR NPFL CORRESPONDENT IN BAUCHI

Forget the freezing rain of London; the real heat was in Bauchi today as Wikki Tourists and Katsina United played out a heart-stopping 3-3 draw that had everything from goal-line scrambles to a controversial red card.

In an encounter that will go down as an instant NPFL classic, the “Bauchi Elephants” thought they had the game gift-wrapped at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium.

Despite missing key stars like Abba Musa and Abubakar Aliyu Mane, Wikki’s depth was on full display as they exploited a Katsina side that looked shaky in the opening stages.

The Stars Align (and Explode)
The match belonged to the attackers, but it was Uche Collins who found himself at the center of the drama for all the wrong reasons. The Katsina dangerman was a constant threat until his afternoon took a dark turn.

After picking up a second yellow card, Collins was sent for an early bath, leaving the visitors to navigate the final stretch with just ten men.

However, Katsina United refused to lie down. Despite the numerical disadvantage, they showed the grit of lions, clawing back to level the score at 3-3 in a breathless second half.

As if six goals and a red card weren’t enough drama, Mother Nature decided to join the fray. With the game poised on a knife-edge and the clock ticking past the 78th minute, poor visibility forced the officials to halt proceedings.

The murky conditions became a safety hazard, leaving fans and players in a state of suspended animation.

”It was absolute chaos out there,” said one traveling fan.

“Six goals, a sending off, and then we can’t even see the ball! This is why we love this league.”

The remaining minutes are set to be played out on Monday morning, but for now, the spoils are shared in a match that proved the NPFL is the most unpredictable show on earth.
