Azubike Ishiekwene Resigns from Leadership Newspapers

January 7, 2015 – Prominent journalist, Mr. Azubike Ishiekwene has resigned his appointment as Group Managing Director of Leadership newspaper.

Isiekwene resigned January 30, 2015 from the organisation but remains as executive consultant.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mike Okpere has been appointed as group managing director of the organisation. He resumed February 2, 2015.

In a statement, chairman Leadership, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah, said Okpere had demonstrated competence and shown strong commitment to the growth and development of the company in the last two years.

“He has shown an extraordinary capacity to learn and adapt and has brought his talent as an auditor/accountant, to bear on the operations of the group.”

Okpere joined the company in September 2012. A hard working man and a passionate golfer, he has helped to reorganise the financial records of the company and to expand its operations.
He said Okpere will take the company to the next level will fall on his shoulders and that he was confident that Okpere would lead his team to succeed.

Okpere, started his career with the firm of Emmanuel Ijewere and co, was the pioneer general manager of the Nigerian Seed Cotton Ltd, and the managing director of Cash Affairs Ltd. He was the managing director of Cal Holdings before he joined LEADERSHIP group two years ago.
