The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) has berated the Imo State Governor, Mr. Rochas Okorocha over what it called a desperate attempt to truncate the wish of the people in Imo State, describing his actions as undemocratic. The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has slammed the presidency for seeking to usurp the role of INEC by describing the rerun election to the Imo House of Assembly in Oguta as inconclusive. The Lagos State Government has said that the asset base of the state co-operative society has hit N60 billion. Commissioner of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Prince Gbolahan Lawal who made the revelation today at an occasion to celebrate the 2013 International Day of Co-operative, said the state government will soon begin the production of 60 million eggs annually through Agric-Yes initiative. National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Nigeria has said that it has received reports that the Joint Task Force (JTF) carried out extra-judicial killings, torture, rape and arbitrary detention in an efforts to fish out  members of the Islamic sect, Boko Haram from their areas of operation. There are indications that the Federal Government will soon merge the Independent and Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in a move to implement the Stephen Oronsaye-led Presidential Committee on Rationalisation and Restructuring of Federal Government Parastatals. The committee had the mandate to look into over 220 parastatals in the country and recommend merger for those with overlapping functions. Lagos state government says it has so far screened no fewer than 65,000 primary schools pupils in its public primary schools for eye defects and impairments under her School Health Programme.
