October 26. 2015 – An Akure Chief Magistrates Court has sentenced a security guard, one Onoja Abel to seven year jail for defiling a nine-year-old girl. Abel allegedly lured the girl into his room and raped her three times, between September and October 2015. The suspect pleaded guilty and was sentenced to seven years in a ratio of five years for rape and two years for assault. The prison term will run concurrently. “I regretted my action because I have a child of 10 years, my second child”, Abel told the court in tears.
