MAKURDI, Benue, Nigeria – Former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has called on the Nigerian Police Force to remain neutral following the decision of 8 lawmakers to impeach Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state.




The former Vice President noted that the introduction of lawlessness through an impeachemnt process could only complicate an already bad situation.

He urged the police to remain politically neutral and avoid aiding lawlessness, adding that the loyalty of the police should be to the constitution and the rule of law.

“For a state facing security challenges like Benue, the introduction of lawlessness through an impeachment process could only complicate an already bad situation.

“I urge the police to remain politically neutral and avoid aiding lawlessness. The loyalty of the police should be to the constitution and the rule of law”, Atiku said on tweeter.
