March 27, 2015 – President Jonathan on Thursday inaugurated the $16 billion Ogidigben Gas City and Deep Seaport situated in Warri South Local Government, Delta State less than 48 hours to the general election.
The $16 billion Ogidigben Gas project is one of the largest Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in West Africa. The project is sitting on 2,560 hectares of land and it is expected to generate millions of job in Nigeria and Delta State in particular.
The project was to be inaugurated in November 14, 2014 was shifted in definitely following unresolved issues between the Ijaws and Itsekiris, the host communities.
