AWKA, Anambra – The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at Abia State University (ABSU) has awarded scholarships to two indigent students of the institution.

The Chairman of ASUU-ABSU, Comrade Chidi Slessor, Mba, Ph.D., stated that the scholarship awards were in fulfillment of the mandate of the National Executive Council of ASUU.

He further explained that the awards followed all the necessary guidelines as stipulated by ASUU National.

Mba said the process was overseen by a committee headed by Professor David Chikezie, a former ASUU-ABSU Chairperson.

He noted that the committee conducted the screening in accordance with ASUU National’s guidelines, leading to the selection of the two scholarship recipients.

The beneficiaries of the scholarships are Onwubu Glory Chidimma, a second-year student in the Department of Public Health, and Ezikwu Sandra, a second-year student in the Department of Optometry.
