MINNA, Niger, Nigeria – President of the Nigerian Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki today paid a visit to the former military head of state, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida in Minna. The Senate President visted after addressing a croweded world press conference in Abuja wherein he condemned attempt by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government to carry out a failed legislative coup.
Hooded officials of the Department of State Service(DSS) on Tuesday invaded the National Assembly complex and stopped the lawmakers from carrying out the business of the day.
The lawmakers had convened at the request of the presidency to debate request for virement in the budget by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC)but the DSS claimed the order to abort the sitting was an order from above.
Writing on the social media, Saraki said he dropped by to pay respect to the elderly General Ibrahim Babangida, adding that he is always happy to be with IBB, whom he described as a father and leader.
