Leader Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF), Mujahedeen Asari Dokubo has been released from custody of the State Security Service (SSS).

He was invited for questioning by the Department of the SSS over his statement that his NDPVF would make the country ungovernable if anything happens to President Goodluck Jonathan.

His personal assistant (Media) and younger brother, Rex Asari, confirmed today that his brother has indeed been released from custody.

Inflammatory statements made by former Head of State, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, former Minister Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and Leader Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, Mujahedeen Asari Dokubo.

GENERAL MUHAMMADU BUHARI’S STATEMENTS
“Ko dai a yi zabe na gaskiya da adalci a dubu biyu da sha biyar, ko kuwa ayi kare jini biri jini.”

TRANSLATION: “Either there should be a free and fair election 2015, or… there will be what literally means ‘dog bleeding and monkey bleeding’.”
“If what happens in 2011 should again happen in 2015, by the grace of God, the dog and the baboon will all be soaked in blood.”

INFLAMMATORY STATEMENTS BY MALLAM NASIR EL-RUFAI
“The next election is likely to be violent and many people are likely going to die (in the process). And the only alternative left to get power is to take it by force; this is the reality on ground. Clearly, we have seen a few by-elections in Delta and in Anambra… The level of preparedness of the electoral body was awful; bribery and the use of police and military was rampant. That was even just a by-elections in one or two states, so by the time we have a general election all over the country, it’s going to over stretch the capacity of the electoral commission and the security agencies.

“I have no confidence in the level of preparedness of the INEC, security agencies and others to conduct elections based on the experience of the other elections they have conducted so far, but they have the time to clear their act. It’s up to him, The ruling party is unwilling to hand over power even where it is clearly unpopular.

“This is what caused problems in the 2011 elections that we had post-elections violence. I see the same thing happening in 2015 unless elections are free and fair, unless INEC cleans up its act and organises free and fair elections, there will be violence.

“If people lose confidence in them, there will be violence, there will be riots and other related issues. But this can be prevented if those who are tasked with the job of security and impartial umpires discharge their responsibilities. However, based on what I see on ground, I don’t see that happening but we all pray that before then they will get it right.”

INFLAMMATORY STATEMENTS BY ASARI DOKUBO
“If it is war the North wants, we are ready for them because Jonathan must complete the mandatory constitutionally allowable two terms of eight years. At home, we have regrouped and we have put our people at alert. In less than one hour, the way we would strike, the world will be shocked. If anybody does anything against Jonathan, we will retaliate. What we will do will shock the whole world. We will cripple the economy of the country not only in the creeks, but also on the nation’s territorial waters, no vessel will be allowed to enter Nigeria’s territorial waters.

“Let them not try anything. If they abuse Jonathan, there is no problem, he is their President but anything that will affect the interest of the Ijaw people and the interest of the entire people of the Niger Delta will be resisted at any cost. Let them go and sleep in their houses. If they don’t, they are looking for trouble and we are going to give it to them. It will make better sense if APC picks its presidential candidate from the South- South. With that, there will be no battle for us to fight and it will make it easier for us. Whichever way it goes, it will enable us to continue our right of uninterrupted rule of eight years, which is the minimum constitutional requirement.

“They cannot take that from the South-South and we will not accept it because every part of the country must have equal access to the various institutions of government, especially at the federal level”
