RUSSIA – The star-studded Argentina, parading the very classic Lionel Messi today collapsed like a pack of cards against the lowly rated Croatia team, who humiliated Argentina with a 3 – 0 bashing.
It was a very entertaining encounter that saw the Croatian team dominating the field from the start of the whistle, with the last goal coming almost in the 90th minutes.
The win takes Croatia to the top of the group, with two games already played. Argentina will need an outright win against Nigeria to stay in contention after pulling a 1-1 draw with Iceland and losing to Croatia.
Ante Rebic started the goal haul by scoring in the 53rd minutes, followed by Luka Modric in the 80th minutes before Ivan Rekitic rounded up with the third goal in the 91 minutes.
