LIBYA – The Arab Convoy names “Steadfastness Convoy” heading to Rafah Crossing in Gaza to break the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip has taken off from Libya and now heading to Egypt, Spokesman for the group, Wael Nawar has said.
According to him, the journey was smooth from Tunisia to Libya and that the convoy will reach the final point in Misrata and would head towards the Egyptian boarder.
He said the large convoy will require visa and special security permit to access the Sinai and Rafah.
He reported that the convoy is yet to get approval to the Sinai and Rafah.
Nawar said the reception was vivid in Libya and that the number of the convoy keeps growing as it moves from one place to the other.
He said the convoy will be in Gaza by June 15 along with one of the boats in the Freedom Flotilla.
He speaks more about the convoy: “This convoy is not about donations. It’s about breaking the siege, opening the crossings and delivering aid piled up at the Gaza borders”.
