February 5, 2015 – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted to allegations by the All Progressive Congress (APC) that supporters of PDP are killing and maiming its supporters, describing the allegation as unwarranted.
According to Publicity Secretary of PDP, Lagos State- Mr. Taofeek Gani, the APC is crying wolf and requested it to look inward, stressing that people have often been killed at each of the campaign rallies held by the APC.
He said that APC in the state has all the government apparatus working for it and that the party was only crying wolf because it seemed to be losing relevance. He said many PDP supporters had either been killed or maimed in different parts of the State.
He sighted an instance of the PDP Senatorial candidate in Lagos West- Mr Segun Adewale whose campaign train was allegedly attacked and his posters removed by APC supporters. He said that supporters of Adewale maimed by APC supporters are still in the hospital.
Speaking further on the issue of Lagos State Signage Adverting Agency,(LASAA), Gani affirmed that LASAA was an illegal body without any constitutional backing.
