BRIGHTON, East Sussex – Brighton and Hove Albion staged a stunning second-half comeback at their beloved American Express Stadium yesterday, as a late surge saw them overcome a stubborn Brentford side 2-1 in a thrilling Premier League clash.

The atmosphere under the floodlights at the Amex was electric, but it was the visitors who initially silenced the home faithful.

Brentford’s Thiago found the net in the 29th minute, capitalising on a moment of slackness in the Brighton defence to send the Bees into the break with an unlikely 1-0 lead. The goal put a dampener on what the Amex faithful had hoped would be a celebratory afternoon on the south coast.

But the American Express Stadium is renowned for its spirit, and the second half saw the Seagulls finally take flight. The pressure mounted, and the crowd—a true twelfth man at the Amex—roared them on.

The equaliser finally came in the 71st minute, courtesy of veteran striker Danny Welbeck, who restored parity and reignited the hopes of the fans packing out the stands of the impressive venue.

The winning goal, a moment of sheer delight for the home supporters, arrived just six minutes from time.

Young Jack Hinshelwood, showing a maturity beyond his years, snatched the decisive goal in the 84th minute, sending the Amex into raptures and securing all three points for the Seagulls.

The magnificent stadium, often a fortress for Brighton, proved its worth once again as the host club completed a dramatic turnaround, leaving Brentford to rue their failure to hold onto their first-half advantage.

It was a victory forged not just on the pitch, but in the heart of the American Express Stadium
