July 22, 2015 – Iyaloja General of Lagos State, Mrs. Folasade Tinubu-Ojo is not finding things easy under the leadership of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode.
We gathered that things have worsened for her even though she remains President General of Lagos State Marketing Board. We gathered that she no longer has power of approval since the governor resumed.
Although she was lucky not to have been sacked, we learnt that the power to approve fund has been ceded to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government.
According to a source, all contracts and business that hitherto needed her signature are now in the purview of the permanent secretary. “All the contractors are now directed to the Permanent Secretary for needed approval”, the source said.
We gathered that with the present situation, she is left with nothing and currently works as figurehead, in the marketing board.
“Her focus is now markets in Lagos, that is where she now gets surplus funds to finance her activities”, the source said.
We gathered that the governor took the decision to contain the excess of Folasade Tinubu Ojo who is alleged to have been freely disbursing fund in a manner that the governor is not comfortable with.
Her ordeal, we gathered started during the election period when she was collecting money in behalf of market women in Lagos and withholding some of the funds.
