Amaka Igwe Left Indelible Legacy in Nollywood Says Lagos Censors Board

The Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board has described the renowned filmmaker, Amaka Igwe who died on set last week as a colossus that left indelible legacy in Nollywood.

Executive Secretary, Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board, Mr. Bamidele Balogun made the remarks in his condolence message to family of the late filmmaker.
He described the filmmaker as one of the finest creative mind in the entertainment industry in Nigeria, adding that her death is monumental loss to the creative world and Nigeria.

Balogun said he received with shock, pain and sadness news of her demise. “Mrs. Igwe distinguished herself as a foremost producer and one of the finest creative minds in the entertainment industry in Nigeria. Her death is a monumental loss to the creative world and the country”, he said.

He noted that her family and Nollywood members should however be consoled by the fact that Mrs. Igwe left an indelible legacy of contributing to the development of film and entertainment industry in the country.

“While we, the management and staff of the Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board pray God to grant her family and Nollywood members the fortitude to bear the loss, may her soul find eternal repose”, he said.
