October 17, 2015 – Chief Press Secretary to the former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Anietie Ukpe has said that his former boss was not arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against reports in the media.
He told reporters early this morning that his former boss was only invited by the anti-graft agency for interrogation and was later released after questioning.
According to him, the former governor is now in his house having been released by the anti-graft agency.
Akpabio is Senate Minority Leader and one of the senators voted into the red chamber on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) and is one of those behind President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki who is being prosecuted by the Code of Conduct Bureau on 13 count charge.
