Akinwunmi Adesina Elected AFDB President

May 29, 2015 – Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Akinwunmi Adesina has been elected President African Development Bank(AFDB).

Adesina is succeeding Donald Kabureke who was president of the AFDB.

President Goodluck Jonathan has been lobbying for Adesina who is seen as one of the shinning stars in his cabinet to be the next president of the AFDB.

Adesina brought  revolution to agriculture in Nigeria. He is instrumental to elimination of corruption from distribution of fertilisers to farmers.

He is reputed for introducing e-wallet, which has made it possible for farmers to receive supplies via their mobile phones.
