January 3, 2015 – Search for those who died aboard Flight QZ8501 that plunged into Java sea continued today even as authorities confirm locating one of three metal objects suspected to be the main body of the Airbus, A320-200.
The main wreckage was located by means of metal detectors attached to an Indonesian ship underneath the Java sea.
The first object measures approximately 30 x 15 x 1.6 feet, while the second measures about 24 x 1.6 feet).
The third was piece that appeared to belong to a plane’s fuselage — its main body, Singapore officials said. So far only 30 bodies have been recovered from the scene.
The plane took off from Surabaya, Indonesia enroute Singapore but disappeared from the radar few minutes after take-off.
