ANAMBRA, Nigeria – Anambra Civil Society Network (ACSONET), has urged the governor of the state Prof Charles Soludo to immediately start the distribution of Palliatives meant to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal in the state.
The Federal Government’s palliatives allotted to the state are meant to mitigate the harshness of the removal of fuel subsidy and should be distributed to those that need them without further delay.

Leader of the group, Prince Chris Azor, made the call while interacting with newsmen after a stakeholders focused group meeting on strategies to address the sufferings of citizens in the face of current existential challenges on Tuesday.
“ACSONET is asking the governor to start without further delay, the distribution of the palliatives to cushion the biting effects of the subsidy removal on the masses of the state” he stated .
According to Azor, the body of Civil Society Organisations across the country had expressed serious concerns about the plight of the suffering masses in the face of humongous hike in prices of commodities, transportation and general livelihoods , noting that distribution of the palliative should commence immediately.
The noted that the palliative packages by Federal and State governments would not be enough to mitigate the hardship faced by Nigerians.
He urged the well meaning patriots and stakeholders to device other intervention mechanisms that would be far-reaching and sustainable to cohesion the hardship.He, however, commended the state government for rolling out comprehensive intervention strategies as made public by the governor in a statewide broadcast.
,“We observed that there are some level of implementation in the health sector, through Antenatal and Postnatal free services. However, we expect the major interventions to commence immediately. The masses are really suffering.”he said .
He assured that the group readiness to partner the state government and other stakeholders in monitoring the implementation process in order to ensure inclusivity, transparency and accountability.
