IJEBU-JESA, Osun -A fresh effort towards political healing has emerged in Osun State following the recent governorship election in the state.
Speaking during a prayer session at Open Heaven Anglican Church in Ilase-Ijesa, the Diocesan Bishop of Ijesa North Anglican Diocese, The Rt. Revd. Dr. Isaac Oluyamo, made a direct pastoral appeal on behalf of Senator Chief Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, calling on the people of Ife/Ijesa Senatorial District to accept the lawmaker’s apology and embrace reconciliation.
Committing Fadahunsi’s public service to God, Bishop Oluyamo encouraged constituents to move past electoral friction and focus on the Senator’s contributions, particularly his programmes targeting youth empowerment and community development.
The cleric reminded worshippers that political campaigns are temporary, whereas family bonds, friendships, and community stability must endure long after the polls close.
The bishop’s call for harmony formed part of a broader message focused on the state’s governance and socio-economic progress.
He congratulated Governor Jackson Ademola Adeleke on his election victory, offering prayers for wisdom and divine direction in his second tenure.
To safeguard local communities, Oluyamo also interceded against road accidents and sudden tragedies across Osun State.
“As Osun State moves forward, the prayer is that God will preserve the state, prosper its people, strengthen its leadership, heal every wound of political contestation and usher the people into a season of peace, progress and monumental divine breakthroughs.”
Highlighting local development efforts, the bishop inspected the proposed site of Obokun University in Ilase-Ijesa, praying for the project’s speedy completion so it can serve as a centre for learning and youth opportunity.
The service concluded with prayers for the ember months and a tribute honouring The Revd. Canon Julius Olufemi and Mrs. Mary Kehinde Adekunle upon their retirement from active church service.
Drawing from Psalm 23, Bishop Oluyamo urged the congregation to trust in God as their ultimate guide through changing political seasons.
His charge to the district remains straightforward: forgive past grievances, restore broken relationships, and work together for the peace and advancement of Ijesaland.
