ISUOFIA, Aguata, Anambra, Nigeria – Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance(APGA), Professor Chukwuma Soludo and his father, Chief Simeon Soludo and many others could not cast their votes at their ward earlier today following the failure of the Bimodal Verification Accreditation System, BVAS, deployed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to boost credibility of the election.

Professor Soludo, who arrived his polling unit, 002 Ofiyi Square, Umueze Village, Isuofia in Aguata LGA  amid excitement by voters was disappointed that the BVAS failed. He called on INEC to provide an immediate solution to allow his people exercise their franchise.

According to news monitored on Anambra Broadcasting Service,(ABS) Soludo pleaded with the Anambra electorates to be patient as efforts is been made to rectify the problem.

ABS reported that out of over 700 registered voters who came out to vote at unit 002 Isuofia Ward, only 20 people have voted successfully at the time of filling the report.

We gathered that the same challenge is also being experienced at other polling booths around Anambra South including, Amaesi, Uga and Ekwulobia.

Reports say there was a large turnout of voters in Anambra South. A total of 2.5 million voters  are eligible to vote in the  Anambra Governorship election.
