Coronavirus kills 33 more patients in Nigeria, 980 in Russia

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 125 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 209, 298.

But out of the 209, 198 confirmed cases, 197, 143 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 837 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 9318 active cases, while 33 patients died in the last 24 hours.

There are now 240,692, 909 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 4, 898,901 patients have kicked the bucket, while 6,619, 971,549 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 44,933,409 all time cases and 724, 317 deaths since inception of COVID-19(22, 753 new and 195 deaths*), followed by India, which has documented 34, 081,315 all time infections, while 452,290 lives have perished(27, 742 new and 310 deaths*) and Brazil which has registered 21, 644, 464 all time cases, while 603,282 patients could not make it alive(16,988 new and 613 deaths*).

The United Kingdom, remains the 4^th country most hit, reporting 8, 488,685 all time confirmations, while 138, 997 lives have been lost to the pandemic(44, 805 new ) , followed by Russia, which has reported 7, 870, 529 confirmed cases of Coronavirus and 219, 342 deaths(33, 428 new and 980 deaths*) and Turkey which has reported 7,630,133 all time infections, while 67, 437 patients have given up the ghost.

France has come up as the 7^th country most afflicted, reporting 7, 189, 566 cases and 118, 183 deaths(3822 new and 10 deaths*), followed by Iran with 5, 784,815 confirmations, while 124, 075 patients have passed on(51, 396 new and 199 deaths*) and Argentina now reporting 5, 272, 551 confirmations, while 115, 666 lives have perished as a result of Coronavirus(1190 new and 6 deaths*).

Spain remains the 10^th country most hit, reporting 4, 984, 386 all time cases, while 86, 974 others could not make it alive and South Africa, the most afflicted Africa country. South Africa has reported 2, 916,593 confirmed cases, while 88, 612 patients have passed on(1033 new and 50 deaths*) .
