Coronavirus: Nigeria reports 626 new cases 14 deaths, USA 1074 deaths

LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 626 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 192, 431. But out of the 192, 431 all time cases,  178, 759 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 469 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 11, 203 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic, while 14 patients died in the last 24 hours.

“NCDC: 626 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos – 334, Rivers – 134, Oyo- 60, FCT – 41,  Osun – 20,  Plateau – 14, Ogun  – 9,  Ekiti -7, Kwara -6, Benue -1: 192, 431 confirmed;  178, 759 discharged; 2, 469 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

There are now 217, 526, 427 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 4, 516,002 patients are no more, while 5,275, 138, 979 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted, reporting 39, 164, 999  confirmed cases of the pandemic, while 639,678 patients have died(138, 255 new and 1074 deaths*), followed by India which has reported 32,768, 880  all time infections, while 438, 560 lives have been wasted by the virus(30, 941 new and 350 deaths*) and Brazil with 20, 752, 281 confirmations and 579,574 deaths.

France has come into the picture as the 4^th country worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 6, 834, 858 all time cases, while 114,625 patients have passed on(24 new cases and 43 deaths*), followed by Russia with 6, 820, 697 all time cases and 180,009 deaths( 17, 374 new and 776 deaths*) and the United Kingdom with 6, 821, 143  all time cases, while 132,858 patients are no more(31, 970 new cases and 60 deaths*).

Turkey remains the 7^th country most afflicted, reporting 6, 366, 408  all time cases, while 56,458 patients have died from the pandemic, followed by Argentina which has registered 5, 178, 889  all time cases, while 111, 607 lives have been wasted(5358 new and 224 deaths*) and Colombia now reporting 4, 907, 264  all time infections and 124, 883 deaths.

Spain has continued as the 10^th country worst hit, reporting 4, 855, 065 all time cases and 84, 340 deaths(7767 new and 194 deaths*) and South Africa with 2, 777, 659  all time infections, while  82, 261 patients have kicked the bucket(7084 new and  431 deaths*).
