Lawmakers in Adamawa State have served impeachment notice on Governor of the State, Alhaji Murtala Nyako and his deputy, Mr. Bala Ngilari.

The governors and his deputy were among governors of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) that defected to the All Progressive Congress(APC).
He has also been in the forefront of criticism against the President alleging that President Goodluck Jonathan whom many have criticized for not dealing a heavy blow on Boko Haram of waging ethnic war against the north.
The notice of impeachment formalized the process of removing the governor..
The Assembly on Wednesday directed clerk of the house to serve Messrs Nyako notice of intention of the house to impeach them.
Mr. Nyako has been having a running battle with the lawmakers since he left the PDP, to join the APC.
At one of the session, the Deputy Speaker, Kwamoti Laori (PDP-Numan), who presided, directed the state Commissioner of Police to arrest commissioners who have failed to show up to clear their names of allegations of financial impropriety.
The affected commissioners were that of agriculture, Lucy Ishaku; health, Lilian Stephen; commerce, Ahmed Gorko; and Land and Survey, Abdulrahman Shuaibu.
