LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 84 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing all time cases to 163,736. But out of the 163,736 confirmed cases, 154,098 patients have been treated and discharged while 2,060 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 7578 active cases, while 1 patient died in the last 24 hours.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-26, Akwa Ibom-16, Rivers-10, Ebonyi-9, Abia-6, Kano-6, Osun-3, Bauchi-2, Delta-2, Edo-1, Jigawa-1, Kaduna-1 and Ogun-1, making a total of 84 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 134, 719, 328 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide,  2, 915, 972  lives have been lost while 76,537,874 others have recovered. The world is now left with 55, 265, 482 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted  country, reporting  31,085, 251  confirmed cases while 561,074 lives have been lost(17, 913 new and 128 deaths*) followed by Brazil, which has documented 13,373,174 confirmations, 348,718 lives have been lost while 11, 725, 248 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Brazil with 1, 299, 208 active cases of Coronavirus(93, 317 new and 3,693 deaths*) and India which has reported 13, 205, 926  all time cases,  168, 436  patients are no more, while 11, 990, 859 others  have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving India with 1, 046, 631 active cases of Coronavirus.(145,384 new and 794 deaths*)

France remains the 4th country most affected by the pandemic, reporting 5, 000, 314 all time cases,  98, 202 patients are no more, while 312, 540 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving France with 4, 589, 572 active cases of Coronavirus(5 new cases*), followed by Russia which has documented 4, 572,053  all time cases, 100, 554 deaths and 4, 200,874 recoveries, leaving Russia with 270, 625  active cases of Coronavirus followed by  the United Kingdom which has registered 4, 380,167  all time cases, 127, 284 patients are no more, while 13, 467 others have recovered, leaving the UK with 4,  239, 416  active cases of Coronavirus.( 1 new case*)

Turkey has come up as the 7th country most hit, reporting 3, 745,657  confirmed cases, 33, 454 patients  are already dead, while 3, 268, 678 others  are now hale and hearty, leaving Turkey with 443, 525  active cases of Coronavirus, followed by Italy which has reported 3, 736,526 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 113, 579 deaths and 3, 086, 586 recoveries, leaving Italy with 536, 361 active cases of Coronavirus and Spain with 3, 347, 512 all time cases,  76, 328 patients have kicked the bucket with 150, 376 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Spain with 3, 120, 808 active cases of Coronavirus.

Germany remains the 10th country most affected by the Coronavirus pandemic, reporting 2, 990, 724   confirmations, 78, 346 deaths and 2, 668, 910 patients have recovered, leaving Germany with 243, 468 active cases of Coronavirus (13, 494 new  181 deaths*) and South Africa which has confirmed 1, 556, 242  all time infections, 53, 256 deaths and 1, 482,682 recoveries, leaving South Africa with 20, 305  active cases of Coronavirus(1267 new and 30 deaths*).
