PDP expels bigwigs over antiparty activities
ONITSHA, Anambra, Nigeria – Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Anambra state chapter has expelled three members from the party for anti party activities.
The party said it cannot be coerced into doing the bidding of the expelled officers, and advised them to join their paymasters party.
Publicity Secretary of PDP , Mr Nnamdi Nwangwu said in a press statement made available to journalists in Awka that the duo of Sir Emeka Obi, the former State Secretary and Mr. Joachim Marcel Anyiam, former State Vice Chairman (South senatorial district) violated Section 58 sub-section 1 (a-m) of PDP constitution and were expelled from the party.
He also said that Mrs Callista Adimachukwu, the former State Women Leader sacked, had no issues with the State EXCO of the party, rather the State EXCO and South East Zonal EXCO only ratified the suspension and expulsion made by her ward in Umudim Ward 2, and Nnewi North chapter of the party.

According to him, rather than sorting out her problem, Adimachukwu went about casting aspersions on the State Chairman.
He noted that various constitutional processes were followed to the latter in the expulsion and replacement of the affected officers
The PDP Publicity Secretary said there have been various attempts in the past where the constituted State Investigative Panel, Anambra South reconciliation committee and State Disciplinary Committee have tried to redress the activities of the former officers by advising them to tow the part of honour, but they were bent on disorganizing the party by all manner of subterfuge.
Nwangwu said the outburst of the expelled officers in their recent press releases have exposed them as moles, and that they have also demonstrated that they were not ready to repent.
“Instead of the expelled officers to show remorse, they are busy casting aspersions on the person of the Chairman, Hon Sir Ndubisi Nwobu who by all standards has taken the PDP to an enviable height in Anambra State” he said.
He however said the party was fully focused on the tasks and responsibilities ahead and cannot be distracted by the activities of few disgruntled elements who have been exposed as planted by detractors in the party.
“The PDP in Anambra State ably led by Hon Sir Ndubisi Nwobu has sustained the tempo of egalitarianism in the party and that has been what is gaining the confidence of all the, BOT members, Elected officials, Governorship aspirants, Stakeholders and indeed the teeming Leadership & Followership as well as Anambriarians in general.
“The party has also in its 27th State EXCO meeting warned all the principal officers of the party to desist from acting as coordinators to any of the aspirants till after the primary elections.
“We all know that Anambra people are eagerly looking up to PDP to give them a quality and credible leadership come 2021 knowing fully well that the state has been lacking credible leadership for the past six years” he said.
He appealed to the PDP faithful in the state not to be disturbed or distracted by the activities of the expelled officers or their agents who never meant well for PDP in Anambra State.
