PORT HARCOURT, Rivers, Nigeria – Three Lebanese abducted by kidnappers three weeks ago at a construction site in Andoni Local Government Area, Rivers State have been rescued unhurt by the police. They were rescued on Tuesday, June 25.
According to the police, those rescued are “Engr. Tony Stephan ‘m’ 63yrs; Chandy Lahoud ‘m’ and Emile Skaff ‘m.”
Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Rivers State Police Command, DSP Nnamdi Omoni in a statement said the Lebanese were freed “as a result of intense pressure mounted on the kidnappers by the police.”
According to Omoni “the victims have been debriefed and are currently receiving medical attention in an undisclosed hospital.”
The PPRO who “complemented the strategic role played by the Chairman of Andoni LGA, Hon. Lawrence Paul,” assured that “efforts have been intensified to ensure that the perpetrators are arrested and brought to justice.”
