LAGOS, Nigeria – Former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, Regina Askia-Williams is angry and she is using the strongest words she could muster to slam all those responsible for her anger. The former queen who has starred in a number of Nollywood movies is angry with those who have developed hatred for her personality.
She said some individuals have developed hatred for her for no good reason. She is not angry that she is hated, but she is crossed with those who are maligning her character by telling lies and recruiting people to tell lies about her character.
As she puts it, “if you hate me, hate me alone. Don’t be out there lying, trying to recruit people to hate me with your miserable ass”, she said.
Regina Askia-Williams is a Nigerian-born, American-based family nurse practitioner (FNP), healthcare and educational activist. A television producer, writer, and public speaker, she became famous for her commanding roles in Nigerian films and soap operas.
She was Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria in 1989 and Miss Unilag 88. Born as Imaobong Regina Askia Usoro, Askia-Williams married an American Rudolph ‘Rudy’ Williams, nephew of Ron Everette and grandson of Fess Williams.
They are blessed with two children – daughter Teesa Olympia and son Rudolph Junior.
Askia-Williams survived the attack on the World Trade Centre on 11 September 2001 where she worked at the time before relocating to New York City with her family.
