LAGOS, Nigeria – Just ahead of the Presidential election slated for Saturday, February 16, 2019, former Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida(IBB) has said that anyone that will get Nigeria working again has his support.
#GetNigeriaworkingagain is the slogan of the flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
IBB, who made the revelation on the social media said when his administration created jobs through agencies like National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, State Security Service(SSS), the Federal Road Safety Commission(FRSC) and the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation(NDIC), including projects like the Third Mainland Bridge at the request of Nigerians.
“NDLEA, SSS, FRSC, NDIC” & more for unemployed youths & approved projects like the 3rd Mainland Bridge in Lagos among others; I did all these to meet the request of Nigerians”, he said.
“When my administration created jobs like “NDLEA, SSS, FRSC, NDIC” & more for unemployed youths & approved projects like the 3rd Mainland Bridge in Lagos among others; I did all these to meet the request of Nigerians. Anyone that will get Nigeria working again has my full support”, he said.
He explained that If there’s anything Nigerians can’t ignore is the fact that Nigerians were living better when he was the Head of State than this present day.
“So therefore, I will be supporting any candidate who is ready to get Nigeria working again; not any one promising otherwise”, he said adding, “In as much as I have stayed away from partisan politics; I will not support any candidate who is talking about #NextLevel or #Change”, he said.
